Hania Aamir
Hania Aamir is the most-followed Pakistani woman on Instagram, a Lux Style Award winner for Best Actress, and, after Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum and Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, the closest thing Pakistani television currently has to a guaranteed hit. She got there in under ten years, starting with a supporting role in the 2016 film Janaan.
What makes her worth watching isn't the follower count. It's that she plays ordinary, slightly chaotic young women without making them cute for the sake of it. When the writing gives her room, as it did with Sharjeena in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, she's one of the most natural performers on Pakistani TV. When it doesn't, she's still usually the most watchable person in the scene.
Hania Aamir's age and early life
Hania was born on 12 February 1997 in Rawalpindi, into a Punjabi-speaking family with roots in Murree. Her parents separated when she was young and she was raised by her mother. She has spoken openly in interviews about the money worries and emotional strain of those years, and it's part of why she connects so strongly with younger fans: her story isn't the polished industry-family one.
She enrolled at FAST-NUCES but left before finishing, saying she needed to earn and support her family. Beyond that she keeps her family life fairly private, so be wary of the many sites listing names and professions for her parents and siblings; most of those details don't trace back to anything she has said herself.

Hania Aamir's dramas, ranked
Popularity and quality haven't always lined up in Hania's career, so here's our ranking of her major dramas, judged on her performance and how well each drama holds up, not just its ratings:

- Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum (2024, ARY Digital). Her best work so far. Opposite Fahad Mustafa, she plays Sharjeena as funny, stubborn and genuinely hurt, sometimes in the same scene, and Farhat Ishtiaq's writing gives her a character with real edges. It became the highest-rated drama on Pakistani TV since 2021, its finale was screened in cinemas across Pakistan, and it won her Best Actress at the Lux Style Awards by public vote.
- Mere Humsafar (2021–22, ARY Digital). The role that turned her into a ratings draw. Her Hala and Farhan Saeed's Hamza had the kind of chemistry that carries a drama, and it passed a billion YouTube views. It leans too hard on Hala's suffering in the first half, but she makes you care anyway.
- Meri Zindagi Hai Tu (2025–26, ARY Digital). A breezier romance with Bilal Abbas Khan that ran 34 episodes and crossed a billion views on YouTube from Indian audiences alone. The lead pair are excellent together. The writing is the problem: it treats Kamyar's controlling, stalker-ish behaviour as romantic far too often, and it runs long in the middle.
- Ishqiya (2020, ARY Digital). A revenge-marriage story opposite Feroze Khan and Ramsha Khan. As Rumaisa, she showed she could hold her own in a darker, more adult drama, even if the story ultimately belongs to Feroze's character.
- Sang-e-Mah (2022, Hum TV). Her smallest role on this list, as Gul Meena in a strong ensemble with Atif Aslam, Nauman Ijaz and Sania Saeed, but it's the best-made drama she has been part of. It won Best Drama Serial at the Hum Awards.
- Anaa (2019, Hum TV). Her first proper lead in a big family saga, opposite Shehzad Sheikh. She earned a critics' nomination at the Pakistan International Screen Awards, though viewers ended up more invested in the secondary couple.
- Visaal (2018, ARY Digital). Mostly remembered for Zahid Ahmed's unsettling turn as the man obsessed with her character, Pari. A popular drama in its year, but not one that gave her much to do beyond being the object of that obsession.
- Phir Wohi Mohabbat (2017, Hum TV). The breakthrough: it won her the Hum Award for Best Television Sensation and set up the bubbly, outspoken persona she'd be cast in for years. The drama itself is fairly routine.
- Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha (2022–23, ARY Digital). A huge ratings hit with Wahaj Ali and Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz that trended across Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, and her weakest work among the big ones. Critics were hard on the direction and on her performance, while Wahaj Ali came out with the praise. Watch it for him.
Not ranked: her early and lower-profile dramas, Titli, Mujhay Jeenay Do, Dil Ruba, Meray Dost Meray Yaar and Kaisi Hai Ye Ruswai.
Hania Aamir movies
| Year | Film | Role |
|---|---|---|
| 2016 | Janaan | Palwasha |
| 2017 | Na Maloom Afraad 2 | Pari |
| 2018 | Parwaaz Hai Junoon | Sania |
| 2019 | Superstar | Herself (cameo) |
| 2022 | Parde Mein Rehne Do | Nazo |
| 2025 | Sardaar Ji 3 | Noor |
Her debut was Janaan (2016), a romantic comedy set in Swat. Film has been the smaller part of her career since, and her Superstar credit is a cameo rather than a lead, despite how it's often listed online.
The film that made the most noise was Sardaar Ji 3 (2025), a Punjabi comedy opposite Diljit Dosanjh. After the April 2025 Pahalgam attack and the India–Pakistan standoff that followed, Indian film bodies called for a boycott over her casting, and the producers released it overseas only, from 27 June 2025. It skipped India entirely and still became the highest-grossing Indian film ever released in Pakistan.

What's next for Hania Aamir
- Fanaa (working title): a new Geo Entertainment drama directed by Badar Mehmood, who also directed Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, and written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah. It's expected before the end of 2026; her co-star hasn't been officially confirmed.
- Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo: Netflix's first Pakistani original, adapted from Farhat Ishtiaq's novel, with Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Sanam Saeed in the ensemble. Its release has been pushed back more than once, and there's no confirmed date yet.
- Music: she released her first single, "Pablo", on 9 September 2026. She wrote it herself, as a Punjabi hip-hop reply to people who call her "fake".

Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar: what's actually confirmed
Hania Aamir is not married, and she has never confirmed a relationship with singer Asim Azhar.
The two were close for years and were widely assumed to be dating. When it became public talk, Hania described Asim as "a beautiful part of my life" with "a bond beyond anyone's comprehension", and said they were friends. Asim replied that the bond was "bigger than any label". In 2026, Pakistani entertainment pages reported they would have a private nikah during Ramadan. Hania answered fans with jokes instead of a denial, which only fed the rumours, but neither she, Asim nor their teams have confirmed a wedding. Anything you read naming her "husband" is speculation.
Why people search "Hania Aamir Shoaib Malik"
There's no romance here. In November 2021, the former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik and Hania did a fashion magazine photoshoot together, and the pictures went viral. Around the same time, Shoaib named her as his favourite Pakistani actress in a rapid-fire interview. Nothing beyond that has ever been reported.
Beyond acting
- UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan, succeeding Muniba Mazari, with a focus on women's empowerment, digital safety and gender-based violence.
- Received the Global Star Award at the 2025 Hum Awards.
- Named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 (Entertainment & Sports).
- Passed 20 million Instagram followers in April 2026, the most of any Pakistani woman.
